Food

Nangarhar is famous for its delicious rosh (meat stew), fresh naan, and flavorful rice dishes. Locally grown fruits like oranges, pomegranates, and mulberries are especially prized. People also enjoy simple home-cooked meals with a lot of fresh herbs and vegetables.

Clothing

Traditional Pashtun clothes are common. Men often wear perahan tunban with turbans, while women wear colorful dresses decorated with embroidery, mirrors, and sometimes gold thread. In rural areas, modesty and tradition play a large role in clothing styles.

Culture

Nangarhar, located in eastern Afghanistan, is known for its rich Pashtun culture and strong tribal values. The people are hospitable, proud, and deeply rooted in traditions. Poetry, especially landai and tappa, is popular, and the province is known for its vibrant gatherings, traditional music, and dance (attan).
